Pablo Tapia Leyton

He graduated in dance with a specialization in performance from the Faculty of Arts at the Universidad Academia Humanismo Cristiano (Santiago, Chile, 2011). He trained in South America, where he worked for various Chilean and Argentine companies and authors. He won the national FONDART competition in Chile in 2008, 2009 (artistic creation), and in 2012, he received a scholarship for studies in Europe. In 2014, he moved to Europe, working as a dancer in various productions, residencies, and projects, and collaborating with Enzo Cosimi, Daniele Ninarello, Fattoria Vittadini, Eko Danza, T.I.D.A, Opera Bianco, Cie Twain, and in the cast of the new project "Jerome Bel" by Marco D'Agostin, produced by Piccolo Teatro Milano and Teatri d'Europa.

 

He is the creator and choreographer of "PARTUZA". He debuted with "MUST BE" at the M100 festival (Argentina). With his project "Tipologia della resistenza," he participated in the Autunno Danza Cagliari festival.
In the social sphere, with the work "L'ALLEANZA DEI CORPI", he created a working methodology that allows the inclusion of people with motor disabilities, at OPERAESTATEFESTIVAL-BMOTION 2017.
In 2019, he prepared the social practice "THE TIME IS NOW", which was featured at the "Festival all'improvviso 2019" and was part of INSiDE OUT - CONTEMPORANEAMENTE ROMA 2019.
In 2020, he produced "BREATHING SPACE" again for INSiDE OUT - CONTEMPORANEAMENTE ROMA 2020. In 2021, he won a grant funded by the "Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen", Essen, Germany, with the project "Sevenproject".

With his project "Arcipelago", he won the "Spring" grant (Festival Oriente Occidente) in 2022 and participated in the "Indagine Milano" Festival (Mare Culturale Urbano – Piccolo Teatro Milano) in 2022 and 2023.

 

From 2018 to 2021, he collaborated as a contemporary dance instructor for the Balletto Di Roma school.

Since 2021, he has been a faculty member at the International Academy of Theatre, Rome (AFAM).
