Recognition of foreign qualifications is provided by specific international agreements that establish the
equivalence in both countries. The recognition procedure consists of a simple investigation aimed at verifying
that the conditions of the agreement exist. Then the Academy proceeds to the enactment of a directorial
decree of recognition provided that the curriculum does not differ for more than one third of the subjects. In
this case admission will be allotted in conjunction with the identification of the subjects and additional
credits to be acquired. In all cases where the above situation does not apply and in case of an application for
recognition of an Italian title, that recognition is carried out by the Academy through a discretionary
evaluation process of the detailed programs inherent in the individual teaching and training activities for
which recognition is requested. The above applications for recognition may be submitted to the Director before
the beginning of the first academic year of the course.
Any person seeking recognition of title or incoming CFA (Academic Training Credits) is required to submit, in
addition to the title (if foreign, in original and in the Italian translation), other necessary documents:
a) certification of the examinations taken, with the indication of the assessment achieved and any credits
acquired;
b) detailed programmes of the courses carried out, and any other teaching and training activities followed;
c) High School diploma that allowed enrollment in the Academy.
A special evaluation committee, designated by the Academic Council, examines the applications and draws up a
report of recognized or non equivalence of title and/or credits.
The Academic Council ultimately deliberates the provision; the Director issues the decree of recognition of
credits or the equivalence of the title. If the recognition of equivalence has not obtained a favourable
opinion, the Academic Council may decide in favour of a partial recognition of the curriculum.
